TRADE relations between Zimbabwe and Belarus, are set to increase, with President Emmerson Mnangagwa’s visit to the East European country.
Foreign Affairs and International Trade Minister, Professor Amon Murwira says the four-day official visit to Belarus by the President is expected to enhance economic ties between the two countries, riding on the already existing excellent political relations.
“This visit follows a state visit that was made by President Alexander Lukashenko to Zimbabwe in 2019. So this is a consolidation of relations between our two sisterly republics. As you know, we are involved in many fields, mainly in the technology and science fields and education. We are in a lot of cooperation in the agricultural area,” he said.
Zimbabwe and Belarus are expected to scale up trade relations, capitalising on excellent political relations between the two countries.
“What is important at this moment is to grow the economic part of our relations,” Professor Murwira said.
President Mnangagwa arrived in Belarus this Sunday after attending the 80th anniversary of the Russia Victory Day.
