SADC Chairperson, President Emmerson Mnangagwa, has expressed grave concern on the deteriorating security and humanitarian situation in the Eastern Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC).
This comes after M23 rebels escalated attacks in the Eastern provinces of Goma and Gisenyi.
In a statement, President Mnangagwa unreservedly condemned the cowardly attacks on both the United Nations (UN) and SADC peacekeepers by the M23 rebels late last week.
Conveying his condolences to the families of the deceased peacekeepers, the SADC Chairperson said the regional bloc is taking decisive action, with those responsible set to be held accountable.
