Nqobile Magwizi nominated for the Capital Markets Awards

FOUNDER and Executive Director of NC & Banat Strategic Partners, Mr Nqobile Magwizi has been nominated for the Outstanding Contributions to Investment Promotion Award at the upcoming Capital Markets Awards being co-hosted in partnership with the Capital Markets Association of Zimbabwe (CMAZ).

Mr Magwizi is recognised as his company has played a major role in national infrastructure development including taking a part in the refurbishing of the National Sports Stadium, Zimplats 35-megawatt solar project, Mbudzi Interchange the Harare-Beitbridge Road Rehabilitation Project, Mbare Market Renewal and Rufaro Stadium refurbishment among other projects.

Mr Magwizi was nominated together with Mr Conrad Mwanza of the CMG International Media Group and Mr Kudakwashe Kapesa of the Zimbabweans in Diaspora Organisation.

The prestigious award is dedicated to honouring individuals, organisations, or institutions that have demonstrated exceptional efforts and achievements in promoting investments in the country.

It also focuses on recognising initiatives that have successfully attracted and facilitated investments, driven economic reforms, or improved the attractiveness of Zimbabwe as an investment destination.

Mr Magwizi, who is also part of Tatu Advertising, is recognised due to his company’s contribution in some of the country’s projects, including the refurbishment of the National Sports Stadium.

“As part of Zimbabwe’s effort to upgrade its national infrastructure, we were proudly involved in the refurbishment of the National Sports Stadium.

“This project was focused on enhancing the stadium’s comfort, safety features, and amenities to meet international standards.

“Our team focused on structuring the deal to procure and install FIFA-standard bucket seats to upgrade the stadium into a world-class sporting facility. This project is ongoing and targeted for completion by June 2025,” Mr Magwizi said in an exclusive interview with ZBC News.

NC & Banat is also taking part in the New City development.

“NC & Banat is proud to be part of the visionary Northgate Estates project. This ambitious development will create a self-sufficient, smart city on the outskirts of Harare, featuring residential, commercial, and recreational areas.

“Our team played a pivotal role in master planning, investment structuring, and long-term strategic development, ensuring the success of this transforma- tive project,” Mr Magwizi said.

“Shenxin Construction engaged us for our expertise on their project with Zimplats, a leading platinum producer, on their solar project.

“This groundbreaking project focused on developing a 35-megawatt solar plant to provide clean, sustainable energy for Zimplats’ operations. Our advisory services in transaction infrastructure played a crucial role in the project’s success, marking a significant step toward Zimbabwe’s transition to sustainable energy.”

NC & Banat is also behind the Mbudzi Interchange project.

“To address Harare’s growing traffic congestion, we played a key role in the Mbudzi Interchange project. This large-scale infrastructure initiative involved constructing a modern interchange to improve traffic flow and reduce bottlenecks in a critical area of the city.

“Our advisory services encompassed feasibility analysis, project fundraising, and stakeholder management , ensuring the project met the city’s evolving transportation needs,” Mr Magwizi added.

Leveraging on understanding of the local market and international best practices, Mr Magwizi also provided comprehensive advisory services for the acquisition and transition of Lafarge Holcim Zimbabwe to Khayah Cement.
