THE Solusi University celebrated a momentous occasion, dedicating 40 pastoral candidates who completed their studies at the institution.
The ceremony, held at the university’s campus, was presided over by Vice-Chancellor Professor Khumbulani Mpofu, who led the event by pinning the newly commissioned pastors and addressing the congregation.
In his remarks, Professor Mpofu emphasised the university’s renewed focus on reviving, recapitalising, and rebuilding as it strives to reach new heights in both academic excellence and community service. He invited prospective students to consider enrolling at Solusi University for a well-rounded academic journey that combines both intellectual rigor and spiritual growth.
Guests of Honour at the dedication ceremony, President of the Woodlands Conference of the Seventh-day Adventist Church in Zambia, Dr. Daniel Chuunga delivered a powerful message urging the newly ordained pastors and the wider church community to uphold the values of truth and integrity in all their actions.
On behalf of the dedicated pastors, Pastor Carlos Chikumbirike expressed their gratitude and accepted the charge given and pledged to live pure lives according to God’s calling.
Adding further depth to the ceremony, Dr. Shepherd Fungura, Group CEO of ZB Financial Holdings, spoke to the pastors on the importance of financial stewardship. Drawing on his expertise in finance, Dr. Fungura shared valuable insights on how to navigate financial challenges while maintaining Christian principles.
He urged the newly dedicated pastors to adopt responsible financial habits, stressing the importance of living within one’s means and avoiding the temptation of debt, fraud, or corruption—issues that could tarnish the integrity of the ministry.
