IN a significant victory for the ongoing battle against drug and substance abuse, a 38-year-old woman from Victoria Falls has been jailed for selling dagga, specifically targeting school children.
According to court documents, Natiwe Mudimba received a 10-month prison sentence for dealing in dangerous drugs, identified in this case as marijuana, with alarming details of how her clientele included school children.
However, the court suspended four months of the sentence for five years, on condition of good behaviour during that period.
Additionally, the three sachets of marijuana, weighing a total of 10.41 grams, discovered in her possession have been forfeited to the state.
These illegal substances were found at the accused’s residence in the Aerodrome suburb of the Resort City.
In another case, a 19-year-old male from Chinotimba suburb has appeared in court facing ten charges, including seven counts of motor vehicle theft, two counts of aggravated unlawful entry, and one count of escaping from lawful custody.
The accused was denied bail.
