SUSPECTED serial killer Anymore Zvitsva is now facing charges linked to the alleged murder of 23 people in Guruve and surrounding areas of Mashonaland Central Province.

According to the latest court documents, Zvitsva allegedly killed an additional four people, bringing the total number of victims to 23 and raising the total number of charges against him to 17. Some victims are also reported to have been sexually assaulted.

The case was postponed to February 3 to allow the State to consolidate multiple dockets. Zvitsva appeared before Harare Provincial Magistrate Ms Ruth Moyo without legal representation, and no family members were present.

Investigations detail that the suspect allegedly attacked victims in isolated locations. In one reported incident, Charity Chidhau and her three-year-old child were allegedly killed at Nyakapupu mountain. In another, a woman named Tariro Gotora and her infant were reportedly killed along the Hunyani River.

Zvitsva was arrested on January 3 after going into hiding for several weeks, following a wave of terror in Guruve. During previous court indications, he led police to sites where victims’ remains were discovered, some in decomposed or mutilated states.
