Zimbabwean youth boxers in Montenegro for IBA Championships.

A trio of young Zimbabwean boxers, accompanied by two coaches, arrived in Budva, Montenegro on Wednesday to compete in the prestigious International Boxing Association (IBA) Youth World Boxing Championships.

The tournament, running until November 4, has drawn top young male and female boxers from around the world.

Representing Zimbabwe are;Julaykah Balakazi from Harare, Sean Pambeni of Victoria Falls and Mqheli Moyo from Hwange.

The team is led by Mphilis Moyo, National Boxing Youth coach and Tobia Mupfuti, head coach at Victoria Falls Boxing Academy.

Last year’s championships saw approximately 600 young boxers participate, highlighting the event’s significance in nurturing the next generation of elite athletes.

The IBA Youth World Boxing Championships provide a vital platform for Zimbabwe’s young boxers to gain international experience and test their skills against the world’s best.
