THE Zimbabwe Under-21 Women’s Hockey team has touched down in Santiago, Chile, ready to fly the national flag at the 2025 Junior World Cup.
The squad has been boosted by the arrival of international-based players, Ella Allrdice and Khanyisile Mzizi from the United States, along with Netherlands-based Chelsey-Lee Hares, who will join the team for a week of intensive final preparations.
There is fresh excitement in the camp as strikers Nyasha Bvute and Ayandah Mangena are set to make their maiden appearance at the global tournament, bringing youthful energy and new attacking options to the side.
Zimbabwe has been drawn in Pool B, where they face a formidable test against 2023 runners-up Argentina, as well as Belgium and Wales.
The Junior World Cup runs from the 1st to the 13th of December, with Zimbabwe opening their campaign against Argentina in their first match.
