TRAVELLERS and tourists have hailed the efficiency at various ports of entry in the country, demonstrating government’s commitment to building systems that promote tourism growth.
A sight of travellers jostling to take pictures clad in national print saying the popular words “ZimBho” at Plumtree Border Post and Joshua Nkomo International Airport spells the excitement and enthusiasm by tourists and visitors coming into the country for the Christmas holiday.
“I am so excited, the treatment I got from the Zimbabwean side is top class,”
“Homecoming is always emotional. I am so happy with efficiency,”
“I am happy to be here after more than 20 years,” travellers said.
The Minister of Tourism and Hospitality Industry Honourable Barbra Rwodzi who was in Plumtree on Tuesday to welcome travellers and visitors, reiterated government’s stance on efficiency to promote domestic tourism.
“We were in Plumtree in the morning and they have improved in terms of efficiency and its critical for the growth and promotion of tourism. Now we are here at the airport, and we have been impressed by the numbers.”
The Second Republic is on a massive drive to transform the tourism sector, with the driving Ministry coming up with various campaigns like ZimBho, Uripi/Ungaphi and Meet Me in Zimbabwe, among others, to promote domestic tourism.
