Zim sprinter, Chigwedere, ready for Paralympics dream

ZIMBABWE’s sprint sensation, Kudakwashe Chigwedere, is primed to make his debut at the 2024 Paralympic Games when he competes in the men’s 100m T47 heats in Paris, France this afternoon.

After an intense month-long training camp under the guidance of two-time paralympic gold medallist Eliot Mujaji, Chigwedere is poised to unleash his speed on the global stage.

Chigwedere, who has been in Paris for the past five days, ssys is ready for the showpiece.

“I have been preparing hard for this moment, and I am feeling ready. I am hoping to make something special happen today and make Zimbabwe proud,” he said.

With his sights set on a podium finish, Chigwedere has been acclimatising in France since Monday alongside his Zimbabwean counterpart, Tinotenda Bango who will compete in the women’s category.

The electric atmosphere is palpable as the Paralympic Games kicked off on Wednesday, featuring 4 400 athletes from 184 countries vying for glory.
