ZIMBABWE’S Miss Universe journey has come full circle, with national pride still riding high following Lyshanda Moyas’ impressive showing on the international stage.
As her global campaign wraps up, focus now shifts back home, where the momentum is expected to inspire the next steps in Zimbabwe’s pageantry landscape.
Lyshanda is expected to touch down in Zimbabwe this Sunday, closing a chapter that began with more than 120 contestants competing for the Miss Universe crown.
She returns not just as the country’s representative but as a symbol of resilience, growth, and Zimbabwe’s renewed rise in international pageantry.
A homecoming reception has been scheduled at the Robert Gabriel Mugabe International Airport, where Lyshanda will arrive alongside the Miss Universe Zimbabwe delegation, including Board Chairperson Colonel Miniyothabo Chiwenga, who played a pivotal role in championing Zimbabwe’s presence at this year’s event.
On the continental stage, Africa delivered a strong performance, with three countries – Zimbabwe, Rwanda, and Côte d’Ivoire earning coveted places in the Top 30.
Côte d’Ivoire’s Olivia Yacé went on to secure the position of fourth runner-up, underscoring the continent’s growing influence in global pageantry.
Although Lyshanda narrowly missed a place in the Top 12, her Top 30 finish stands as a significant achievement, placing Zimbabwe among Africa’s best performers this year and signalling the country’s continued upward trajectory at Miss Universe.
