ZIFA presidential aspirant Temba Mliswa withdraws appeal

Story by Fungai Jachi

Disqualified ZIFA presidential aspirant Temba Mliswa has withdrawn his application to stop elections set for this Saturday.

Mliswa and the respondents concurred that the application was ill-timed.

Mliswa is among the five candidates who were disqualified by the ZIFA Electoral Committee after falling short of the association’s eligibility criteria.

He was challenging the election process as well as the validity and legitimacy of the new ZIFA statutes that are being used to run the upcoming ballot set for this Saturday.

The court application had been transferred from Bulawayo High Court to Harare.
