The Zimbabwe Broadcasting Corporation (ZBC) says it is determined to improve its programming, with focus on the digital space as it seeks to remain relevant in the broadcasting industry.

In an interview on the sidelines of ZBC’s strategic review workshop underway in Harare, the national broadcaster’s board chairperson Ms Helliate Rushwaya said the corporation is on a drive to improve its programming to stay relevant in the digital era.

She said, ”We are taking time to reflect on the past year and focusing on what we can do better in 2025. We understand the need to ensure we improve our programming as operations have changed since we are now in the digital era. We are hopeful that with proper planning, we will be able to improve so that we carryout our mandate of informing educating and entertaining the nation.”

A facilitator from the Public Service Commission Mr Lovemore Mbombo spoke on the importance of having strategic plans.

“For an organisation like ZBC, it is important to review because the market is always changing. If such reviews are not done, it will be difficult to improve. During the course of this workshop, we will look at the relevant aspects of how ZBC can improve and stay relevant,” he said.

The three-day strategic meeting is being attended by the ZBC Board, management, the Ministry of Information, Publicity and Broadcasting Services, the Broadcasting Authourity of Zimbabwe and Transmedia.
