THE ZANU PF Women’s League inter-district meeting held in Mutare this Saturday saw the party wing reaffirming its commitment to growing the party support base under the leadership of President Emmerson Mnangagwa

The well attended ZANU PF Manicaland Women’s League Inter-district meeting held in Mutare this Saturday saw the provincial chairperson, Cde Dorothy Mabika, rallying women to remain pacesetters in driving the party’s mobilisation agenda as well as the national development vision.

“I promise to work with all women irrespective of positions in the party. I will work with all the churches, party wings, and all party affiliates. I will knock on all doors to ensure that the empowerment drive is scaled up. We also need to remain united and strengthen our party. We also have the issue of social media. Dont forward messages that divide the party. You should forward messages that unite the people. Women should unite the people so that we go far as a party. Let’s defend ZANU-PF and the ruling party. We need to tell the people about the great works by President Mnangagwa. Manicaland Women’s League should be pacesetters in advancing the mobilisation drive. President wants us to mobilise more people. Mobilisation is the best way to defend the president, the party, and the country,” she said.

ZANU PF Politburo member Cde Irene Zindi and Central committee member, Honourable Gertrude Mutandi expressed happiness with the unity being exhibited by women in Manicaland Province, adding their voices on the need to scale up the mobilisation drive in support of the party and President Mnangagwa.

“Cde Mabika says we don’t have a single legislator in Mutare, and we need to work hard to ensure we claim seats in Mutare. The leadership is united, and let’s take that queue from the party leadership,

“We are happy with the unity of purpose you exhibited by coming to this meeting in your numbers. The major call here is unity in order to defend our country. Many people died for this country hence we have an obligation to defend the country and president Mnangagwa. The President is championing the national development agenda with roads, dams, and other vital infrastructure being constructed,” they said.

The meeting was also attended by Manicaland Minister of State for Provincial Affairs and Devolution, Advocate Misheck Mugadza, who challenged women to refrain from being spectators in the economic affairs of the country.

“Our President is spearheading a lot of empowerment projects, which should benefit women. Women should not be spectators in the economic development affairs of the country. Among notable developments include, a Resin company in Mutasa that will employ thousands of people. You should not be left behind. You should also take advantage of the Sanganai/Hlanganani to generate business,” said Advocate Mugadza.

Meanwhile, Women’s League inter-district meetings have so far been held in Buhera, Makoni, Nyanga and Mutare, with the provincial executive set to visit Zimunya-Marange, Chimanimani, Mutasa and Chipinge to conclude the current round of meetings.
