THE race for the 2026 Castle Lager Premier Soccer League Golden Boot has intensified, with Dynamos forward Frank Agyemang joining Hardrock striker Washington Navaya at the top of the scoring charts as the season heads into its decisive phase.

Agyemang moved to the summit after scoring twice in Dynamos’ emphatic 4-0 victory over Agama on Sunday, taking his tally to 11 goals.

Navaya retained his place at the top after finding the net in Hardrock’s entertaining 3-3 draw against CAPS United, also taking his season tally to 11.

Herentals captain Ralph Kawondera remains firmly in contention with 10 goals, while Scottland’s Khama Billiat has scored nine.

Scottland forward Knowledge Musona has netted eight times this season, with Walter Musona on seven.

Dynamos’ Jairos Kasondo, Simba Bhora’s Harrison Masina and CAPS United’s Ishmael Wadi have each scored six goals, while MWOS forward Arthur Banda, Bulawayo Chiefs striker Godswill Gwara and Hardrock’s Wilfred Madzungu have five apiece.

With 13 matches remaining, the Golden Boot contest remains finely poised, with the added intrigue of whether any striker can surpass the 20-goal mark.

The last player to achieve the feat was the late Norman Maroto, who scored 22 league goals for the now-defunct Gunners in 2010.
