The ZANU PF cell restructuring exercise in Mashonaland West has received a timely boost after the party’s secretaries of youth affairs received motorbikes.
The ZANU PF Mashonaland West Youth League has handed over motorbikes to all the secretaries of youth affairs in the province in fulfilment of a pledge made by President Emmerson Mnangagwa on the Munhumutapa Day in Masvingo on the 15th of this month.
Provincial Youth League Chairperson, Cde Tapiwa Masenda said the gesture is a direct response to mobility challenges which were slowing down party activities.
“I want to thank the President and First Secretary Cde Emmerson Mnangagwa for giving us motorbikes as the Youth League. We are in the middle of the cell restructuring exercise which demands us as the youths to play a part in the recruitment of members and monitoring of the exercise. We are now able to reach every corner of the province and ensure party business takes priority. After all, we have been supported through various initiatives which include land, heifer cattle among other empowerment initiatives,” he said.
The beneficiaries thanked President Mnangagwa for youth empowerment programmes being rolled out across the province as a bold statement confirming the party’s inclusive policy.
“This month of September we received the presidential heifer pass on the scheme as the youths, mining permits, land and now motorcycles. This speaks volumes in terms of the party’s commitment to the development of the youth league. We want to make good use of the motorcycles so that we cascade information to all corners of the country as we journey towards Vision 2030,” said a beneficiary of the programme, Cathy Chanetsa.
ZANU PF is conducting its cell restructuring and verification ahead of the ruling party’s National People’s Conference to be held in Bulawayo next month.
