ZANU PF calls for stronger grassroots structures to support provincial development

ZANU PF has concluded its ten-leg provincial outreach programme in Matabeleland North, with a renewed focus on accountability and strengthening grassroots structures to advance development.

Addressing the party’s Extraordinary Provincial Coordinating Committee (PCC) meeting in Lupane on Saturday, Secretary General Advocate Jacob Mudenda emphasised results-driven policies as critical for community-oriented projects.

“To strengthen accountability and alignment with party directives, the PCC must require periodic quarterly reports from the Minister of State for Provincial Affairs and Devolution on economic progress, challenges and corrective measures to advance provincial prosperity of the people. Through this systematic oversight, development becomes results-driven and fully aligned with Vision 2030 and the National Development Strategy 2, as it is anchored in ensuring inclusive growth.

“In this regard, monitoring and evaluation of Government programmes and signature projects in the provinces, such as the Gwayi-Shangani dam, is a core responsibility of Provincial leaders. You need to visit this project to check on progress. Thus, PCC must ensure equitable utilisation of natural resources in their province, timely implementation of projects and the delivery of tangible benefits to communities.”

ZANU PF’s provincial leadership in Matabeleland North reaffirmed its commitment to the government’s development agenda.

“As a province, we greatly appreciate the message delivered. Moving forward, our members are expected to take the lead in driving development,” said Provincial Chairperson Cde Richard Moyo.

The completion of the outreach programme marks a significant milestone in consolidating the party and Government development-driven policies.

Key figures who attended the extraordinary PCC included ZANU PF National Political Commissar, Cde Munyaradzi Machacha, Treasurer General, Cde Patrick Chinamasa, Secretary for Economic Empowerment, Cde Sithembiso Nyoni, Deputy Secretary for Legal Affairs, Cde Fortune Chasi, Deputy Secretary for Security, Cde Tendai Chirau, and ZANU-PF Women’s League Secretary for Finance, Cde Tsitsi Mugabe, among other senior party members.
