THE government has urged youths to become torchbearers of economic development, as the Second Republic continues to support entrepreneurship at every level.
Businesspersons from across Matabeleland South Province gathered at Wellton Primary School in Beitbridge this Friday to exchange ideas, network, and share experiences. The event also recognised individuals for their outstanding business achievements.
“It is us business people who should stand up and work for our country. Being recognised with these awards also encourages us to pay taxes to the government thereby promoting economic growth,” said an award winner.
“From here I believe as business people we will think outside the box and continue being innovative so that we grow our economy,” another added.
Government emphasised the critical role of collaboration and partnerships in driving national economic growth.
“This summit embodies a truth that lies at the heart of our government vision, that success of any government is not in itself , but in uts people. This summit demonstrates the power of collaboration and partnerships and shared vision that will help us reach Vision 2030 leaving no one and no place behind,” said Permanent Secretary in the Office of Vice President Colonel (Rtd) Kembo Mohadi, Dr Benson Dube.
The Business Summit and Awards come at a time the government is promoting the ease of doing business and supporting entrepreneurship across the country.
