Youths continue to rally each other towards playing a key part in the country’s attainment of an upper middle income society by 2030.
Zimbabwe youth council board member, Mr Tinashe Ngirandi highlighted government’s efforts to ensure youth participation in national development.
“Generally, young people have supported NDS1 through one of its pillars which looks at increasing youth participation, decision making and also in developmental processes… We have seen young commissioners being appointed and part of boards. We have seen an increase in young parliamentarians showing that young people are taking the call of NDS1 to increase youth participation,” Ngirandi said.
Education 5.0 has been bookmarked as key contributor towards youth participation in economic development.
“Education 5.0 is very important in addressing national development. There is a saying that, no country can develop faster than its education system. We were being developed to be consumers, now we are being developed to be the owners of industry, not to cry that young people want jobs, but to be the creators of employment.”|
As the NDS1 draws to a close in 2025, NDS2 will become the final stage towards attaining Vision 2030.
