The Warriors walloped the Brave Warriors of Namibia 3-1 at Orlando Stadium in South Africa  this Monday evening to put qualification for the 2024 Africa Cup of Nations firmly in their own hands.

The victory firmly puts Zimbabwe’s quest to qualify for AFCON 2025 in their hands with Cameroon on 10 points, Zimbabwe on eight, while Kenya in third are four points behind.

“We are very happy with the result we controlled the game so much, especially in the second half and we kept our concentration,” said Warriors coach, Michael Nees.

Walter Musona scored a brace, while Prince Dube added in their third goal before Namibia found a face-saver.

This was the first time since 2017 for the Warriors to score three goals when they walloped Eswatini 3-1 in an AFCON qualifier.

The Warriors will play their last two qualifiers in November when they host Kenya before concluding the qualification campaign with an away fixture to the Indomitable Lions of Cameroon.
