THE United States of America has lauded Zimbabwe’s ease of doing business reforms, which have seen the government enhancing transparency on project approvals.
The US Embassy in Zimbabwe made the remarks on its X page after its Ambassador to Zimbabwe, Her Excellency Pamela Tremont, held engagements with the Zimbabwe Investment and Development Agency (ZIDA) officials this week.
The US Embassy revealed that an upcoming regulations platform designed to reduce bureaucracy, enhance transparency and help investors track progress of their projects is vital in boosting confidence in Zimbabwe.
It also described the new platform as a meaningful step towards a more welcoming environment for US and global investors.
Economist, Dr Zack Murerwa said measures to facilitate a favourable business environment reflect the commitment by Zimbabwe to attract more global capital flows.
“It signals strides being made by the Second Republic in improving the level of doing business with those who want to set up companies in Zimbabwe. The government and relevant authorities need to continue focusing on workable mechanisms to further consolidate the existing or current trends.”
Under the National Development Strategy One (NDS1), increased investments in the country are vital in ensuring positive annual growth rates.
