Sprinter Tapiwanashe Makarawu races to 7th in world championships final

Zimbabwe’s top sprinter Tapiwanashe Makarawu finished 7th in the 200m final at the World Athletics championships this Friday in Tokyo, Japan.

The 25-year-old crossed the line in 20.12 seconds in his second concecutive world finals after finishing sixth in the same event at the Paris Olympics games last year.

American Noah Lyles won the race I 19. 52 seconds, his fourth world championship gold in the event, matching Usain Bolt’s record.

Kenny Bednarek won silver while the young Jamaican sensation Bryan Levell scooped bronze with a personal best.

Botswana’s Lestile Tebogo settled for fourth place.
