THE African Apostolic Church has reaffirmed its support for the Government and the leadership of President Dr Emmerson Mnangagwa during a Holy Communion ceremony held at Guwambwa Shrine in Chikomba District on Saturday, where the church also received a US$50,000 donation from the Head of State and Government.
Speaking at the gathering, the church, led by Archbishop Edward Ngoni Mwazha, pledged to continue working closely with the Government.
“Our father and the President were very close. The church has always worked closely with the Government, and we will continue to strengthen that relationship,” said Bishop Masimba Mwazha.
Bishop Sandres Dandajena of Mashonaland West and Zambia said the church appreciates the President’s continued support and commitment to peace, unity and development.
“We are very happy with what the President has done for us. The Government and the church should continue working together. We welcome the message of unity and peace, and we are grateful for the President’s continued support. We support his vision of peace, unity and development because we cannot prosper without working together with the Government,” he said.
The Minister of Youth Empowerment, Development and Vocational Training, Honourable Tino Machakaire, who represented President Mnangagwa at the Holy Communion ceremony, handed over the US$50,000 donation to the church on behalf of the Head of State and Government.
Minister Machakaire said President Mnangagwa values peace, unity and national development, urging the church to continue promoting these principles as it partners with the Government in building a prosperous Zimbabwe.
“I was invited to State House, where the President told me I would be meeting Mutumwa. He said he had a close relationship with Archbishop Paul Mwazha and wanted those relations to continue. He also said that if the church faces any challenges, it should not hesitate to approach his office. The President said Archbishop Paul Mwazha’s vision of peace and unity should always be upheld. He gave me US$50,000 to present to the church as a token of support, and assured us that the Government will continue supporting the church,” said Minister Machakaire.
Support for the African Apostolic Church has increased under the leadership of President Mnangagwa, with the church reaffirming its support for the Head of State and Government, who continues to champion the empowerment of religious organisations across the country.
