ZIMBABWE’s tourism sector has received another international boost as a group of Spanish tourism agents arrived in Victoria Falls for a seven-day familiarisation tour aimed at strengthening Europe’s growing interest in Destination Zimbabwe.
The delegation is set to tour the Wetland City of Victoria Falls and the Hwange National Park, experiencing key attractions and sampling the country’s hospitality with the goal of promoting Zimbabwe within the Spanish travel market.
During the week-long visit, the agents will inspect accommodation facilities, embark on game drives and participate in activities such as the popular Zambezi River sunset cruise.
“We are excited to be here. There is a growing appetite for Destination Zimbabwe among our clients, and we are here to sample and market your country,” an agent said.
“Zimbabwe is a beautiful country, and we want to sell your country and its beauty,” a tourism agent said.
Europe remains a critical source market for Zimbabwean tourism with contributing nearly 200,000 visitors as of 2024 and Spain accounting for about 10 percent of that figure.
Zimbabwe continues to draw global recognition for its diverse attractions, among them the majestic Victoria Falls: one of the Seven Natural Wonders of the World, the Matobo Hills, Hwange National Park, the Eastern Highlands and the historic Great Zimbabwe Monuments.
