Kenyan national, Collins Jumaisi Khalusha, who was arrested on suspicion of killing a number of women and dumping their bodies in an old quarry, has escaped from police custody in Nairobi, Kenya’s capital this Tuesday.
Khalusha was arrested last month in connection with the discovery of at least six bodies wrapped in plastic bags in Kware quarry, which is now used as a rubbish dump and according to the police he admitted to killing 42 women including his wife.
Police spokesperson Resila Onyango has reported that Khalusha escaped out of the Gigiri Police Station with 12 other inmates of Eritrean nationality.
According to police, disciplinary measures have been taken against eight officers, including the area and station commanders and officers who were on duty.
Khalusha was being detained at the police station after a court allowed detectives seven more days to investigate further before charging him and the escape was discovered when breakfast was being taken into the cell.
