Scotland FC eye historic PSL title in debut season

PREMIER Soccer League (PSL) debutants Scotland FC are on the brink of making history, as they set their sights on lifting the Castle Lager PSL trophy in their maiden top-flight campaign.

With just 12 points separating them from championship glory, Scotland FC are determined to defy the odds and become the first team in recent memory to win the league title in their debut season.

The impressive run has captured the imagination of fans across the country, with the team now fully focused on the final stretch of what could be a fairytale ending.

That script will be sweet music for their gaffer Tonderai Ndiraya, who is itching to go down in history as a coach who managed to win back-to-back championships with different Premier League clubs.

Having written a fairytale with Simba Bhora, Ndiraya is on the verge of landing a second championship crown after capitalising on a lapse of concentration by defending champions Simba Bhora, who fell to ZPC Kariba at the weekend.

All eyes are on their opponents’ fixtures and Mabviravira, who had hoped to keep their title ambitions under the carpet, have laid bare their intentions to land the coveted PSL crown.

Scottland head coach Tonderai Ndiraya, who paraded national team material in the calibre of his players after dispatching Chicken Inn at Barbourfields Stadium, has every reason to believe that he can capitalise on Simba Bhora’s inconsistency.

“Why are not we gunning for it, especially with the win and the depth in our squad. We have quality players. We have said it, it’s not in our hands, but we will be waiting to pounce on the sidelines,”  Scottland head coach, Tonderai Ndiraya- said.

After Week 30 matches, Scottland are leading the pack with 59 points, four ahead of Simba Bhora, who have a game in hand.

The Shamva-based outfit has what looks like difficult fixtures as they are set to clash with Ngezi Platinum Stars, Highlanders, Bikita Minerals and have an outstanding fixture with Triangle United.

On the contrary, Scottland have MWOS, Kwekwe United, Green Fuel and TelOne standing on their way.

Away from the title chasing pack, the relegation matrix is entering an interesting phase, with Division One-bound Kwekwe United now awaiting the three other candidates, with Yadah, Green Fuel, Bikita Minerals, Dynamos, Manica Diamonds and Chicken Inn, among the relegation candidates.
