THE future structure of Zimbabwe’s top-flight football league will come under scrutiny next week as the Premier Soccer League (PSL) convenes an Extraordinary General Meeting (EGM) on November 19 to deliberate on the proposed expansion of the league from 18 to 20 teams.
The proposal, initiated by the Zimbabwe Football Association (ZIFA), is currently undergoing consultations within football circles.
ZIFA is also pushing to introduce a long-mooted National First Division, which would serve as a feeder league to the top flight.
However, the proposals can only be implemented after receiving formal approval from the ZIFA board and subsequent constitutional amendments.
