PRESIDENT Emmerson Mnangagwa is set to commission the Palm River Energy Metallurgical Special Economic Zone Project in Beitbridge today.
This significant US$3.6 billion investment, spearheaded by the Chinese company Xinganglian Holdings, will focus on the processing of chromium-based materials, while also supporting a green energy-integrated power generation initiative.
The project, which will be developed over a 12-year period, is expected to yield 200 000 tonnes of ferrochrome annually.
Falling under the Special Economic Zones initiative, the project is receiving support from both the Tuli and Wanjii Mines.
