Three top envoys present credentials to President Mnangagwa

PRESIDENT Emmerson Mnangagwa has received credentials from three new ambassadors representing India, France and Burundi in Zimbabwe.

Speaking after presenting credentials at State House in Harare this Thursday, India’s top envoy, His Excellency Mr Bramha Kumar said he is ready to deepen ties that already exist between Harare and New Dehli in areas such as health, manufacturing and trade.

“I am looking forward to further bring more Indian investors to venture into agriculture, mining, energy, and the transport sector. Currently, Varun Beverages is one of the biggest Indian investors employing many people in Zimbabwe,” he said.

The new French Ambassador to Zimbabwe, His Excellency Mr Paul-Bertrand Barets noted that his country is looking at deepening cooperation in education, arts, and business.

“I hope to further deepen ties between our two countries on various fronts including education, mining, and the arts,” he said.

Burundi’s Ambassador, Her Excellency Ms Evelyne Butoyi, hopes Harare and Gitega will push forward engagements between the two countries in various fronts.

“My country is looking at areas where we can begin to discuss bilateral trade, and I am hopeful that during my time here in Zimbabwe, this will be realised.”

Zimbabwe’s economic blueprint, the National Development Strategy One places emphasis on economic diplomacy as a springboard for increased investments in the country.
