President Emmerson Mnangagwa is in Hwange today for the ground breaking ceremony marking the start of a 720 Megawatt new energy power plant.
The US$1 billion project is part of the National Strategy on Energy Efficiency, which will also see the establishment of a 200 Megawatt solar power plant.
The project is set for completion in 2028 and will boost the national power supply to support industrial growth and expansion while at the same time helping to capacitate local engineers with skills.
Titan New Energy company is working with the Zimbabwe Electricity Supply Authority (ZESA) in this massive investment.
