PRESIDENT Dr Emmerson Mnangagwa has arrived in Eswatini to attend celebrations marking the 40th anniversary of the reign of King Mswati III, which coincide with the monarch’s 58th birthday.

He was received at King Mswati III International Airport by Zimbabwe’s Ambassador to Eswatini, Victor Matemadanda and senior officials from the host government.

The commemorations celebrate the continuity of the monarchy while promoting cultural pride and national unity. In the lead-up to the main event, a series of activities, including nationwide clean-up campaigns, have been held across the country.

The main celebrations are set for Friday at Somhlolo Stadium, where a rich programme of cultural performances is expected.

At least six Heads of State from the region are anticipated to attend the event, underscoring its regional significance.

Zimbabwe and Eswatini are also seeking to deepen bilateral cooperation, particularly in trade and other key sectors.
