President Emmerson Mnangagwa has created additional posts of Deputy Ministers to allow for greater clarity and agility in the implementation of policies to drive inclusive growth and transformation.
In a statement, Chief Secretary to the President and Cabinet, Dr Martin Rushwaya, revealed that the Ministry of Local Government and Public Works now has a Deputy Minister Responsible for Public Works and Maintenance of Government Buildings who is already in office, while legislator for Nketa Constituency, Honourable Albert Tawanda Mavunga, has been appointed Deputy Minister Responsible for Local Authorities and Traditional Leadership.
Dr Rushwaya also said the Ministry of Mines and Mining Development now has a Deputy Minister Responsible for Mineral Resources Extraction and Marketing who is already in office, while Mutoko North legislator Honourable Caleb Makwiranzou comes in as Deputy Minister Responsible for Oil and Gas Research, including other Strategic Minerals Exploration.
Dr Rushwaya further highlighted that National Development Strategy One is its final lap, while the development of the successor National Development Strategy Two has commenced in earnest, hence the review of mandates to ensure Second Republic targets are met.
