THE Government has paid wheat farmers another tranche of US$7 million as it moves to clear their outstanding balance for wheat deliveries.
“We have received the money- and we are paying the farmers as we speak, so all in all we have paid farmers US$18 million and Zig$215 million. We want to thank treasury for mobilizing the funds, we also want to thank farmers for their resilience,” noted GMB Finance Director Mr Clemence Guta.
The GMB has assured farmers that the balance of 14 million United States dollars is being mobilised to ensure settlement in the shortest possible future.
