CHINHOYI – THE Mashonaland West Show Society is expecting to host a bigger and better exhibition in August, with the 20-member Namibian delegation having also confirmed participation.
The Chairperson of the Mashonaland West Show Society, Mr Godfrey Mavankeni, confirmed that more than 150 exhibitors are expected to showcase their products and innovations this year, with 80 percent of the available exhibition space already taken up.
“So far, 80 % of our space, translating to over 120 stands, has been occupied. This speaks to the growth of the show society. Quite exciting is that we are expecting a 20-member delegation from the Kavango East Province of Namibia, as well as members of the Rundu Trade Fair. This is a milestone in regional cooperation, knowledge exchange, and agricultural diplomacy.”
The show, which will run under the theme “Climate Smart Agriculture: Industrialisation for Sustainable Food and Nutrition Security,” aligns with the Government’s Rural Industrialisation Agenda as outlined in the National Development Strategy 1 (NDS1).
This year’s programme includes a diverse range of activities aimed at engaging stakeholders across the agricultural value chain.
Day 1 will feature the launch of the High Schools Quiz Competition,
Day 2 will host an Agribusiness Conference and Farmers’ Workshop,
Day 3 marks the official opening ceremony,
Day 4 will conclude with a livestock and farm produce auction.
In a further display of regional collaboration, the Mashonaland West Show Society, in partnership with the Zimbabwe Agricultural Society (ZAS), is also scheduled to participate in the Zambia Agricultural and Commercial Show later this month.
The Mashonaland West Agricultural Show continues to serve as a crucial platform for innovation, investment, and networking in Zimbabwe’s agricultural sector, while also fostering international engagement in line with regional development goals.
