POLICE have arrested a 35-year-old man from Nyazura in connection with the alleged killing of his wife, in a case authorities say arose from a domestic dispute.
The Zimbabwe Republic Police (ZRP) confirmed the arrest of Jealous Musasa, who is accused of assaulting his wife, Monica Tabvuroona (30), following an argument. The victim later succumbed to her injuries.
In a separate incident, police in Chimanimani have arrested a 37-year-old man in connection with the death of his elder brother.
The suspect, Tonderai Masaiti, is alleged to have taken part in an attack on his brother, Benjamin Masaiti (43), with the assistance of the deceased’s wife, Chipo Chirigo (45). Police say the incident followed a dispute linked to allegations of an illicit relationship.
Chipo Chirigo is currently on the run, and investigations into both cases are ongoing.
Police have reiterated calls for peaceful resolution of domestic disputes and urged communities to report cases of violence early to prevent loss of life.
