Ngezi Platinum Stars are through to the Chibuku Super Cup final after sinking Simba Bhora in a penalty shootout at Baobab Stadium this Saturday.
Ngezi Platinum emerged victorious in a nail-biting Chibuku Super Cup semi showdown with equally ambitious Simba Bhora which had to be decided by the lottery after a two-all draw in regulation time.
Ngezi Platinum drew first blood through a
Talent Chamboko strike in the 37th minute.
With Ngezi Platinum edging closer to victory, Simba Bhora struck in the 76th minute through Tymon Machope before the red-hot striker made it two, fourred-hots later.
Simba Bhra’s position in the driving seat was, however, short-lived as Ngezi equalised courtesy of veteran midfielder Farai Madhanhanga.
The thrilling encounter had to be decided through the dreaded penalty shootout in which the home side showed mental strength to make it to their second successive Chibuku Super Cup final after a 5-4 victory.
The Platinum Miners will face the winner of the SuMiners semi-final between Dynamos and Manica Diamonds at Rufaro Stadium.
