TWO new schools in Kwekwe’s Mbizo suburb are nearing completion, bringing renewed hope to the community and promising to ease the persistent shortage of educational facilities in the area.
The construction of the schools has already created employment opportunities, providing locals with much-needed income and enabling some families to meet school fees and household expenses.
“I must say it is not easy to get employment nowadays. This project has breathed life to me and my colleagues. I can safely secure school fees for my children and afford to spoil my family.
“I must say as a community we are very happy with the level of development that has been brought here. Children used to walk long distances to look for alternative schools. Now these schools will ensure quality education to our children.
“We are witnessing some great development in our area of Kwekwe. Since the coming on board of the Second Republic things are happening here,” local people stated,” local residents said.
Government is equally impressed by the level of development being experienced across the country.
“The President, Cde Emmerson Mnangagwa is walking the talk as witnessed by this massive development. It is happening across all sectors of the economy. It is quite clear that vision 2030 is upon the horizon. We are getting there slowly but surely.
“These schools are a clear testimony that National Development Strategy 2 (NDS2) is already in motion. We are looking forward to the reduction of the schools backlog as a result of such developments,” Midlands Minister of State for Provincial Affairs and Devolution, Honourable Owen Mcube added.
Since the inception of the Second Republic, the country has been witnessing some unprecedented infrastructure development under the NDS economic blueprint.
