Museum of African Liberation set to be citadel of continental history

Story by Bruce Chahwanda, Political Editor

THE construction of the Museum of the African Liberation is progressing well, with the facility set to become the citadel of the continent’s history upon completion.

As part of the government’s media strategy, journalists and government officials led by the Minister of Information, Publicity and Broadcasting Services, Dr Jenfan Muswere toured the construction site of the Museum of African Liberation in Harare this Tuesday.

The tour of the project is part of the provincial media tours organised by the Ministry of Information, Publicity and Broadcasting Services to showcase government programmes being implemented in line with Vision 2030.

“We want to ensure journalists are able to relate with what the government is doing, hence these tours. This Museum will be the citadel of the history of the continent and Zimbabwe at large. It gives an insight on the cause of war of liberation which is land until today when we talk about land tenure implementation,” Dr Muswere said.

The provincial media tour will be taken to Manicaland province this Thursday to showcase the Second Republic’s development projects which are transforming people’s lives.

The provincial media tours have so far been conducted in Harare and Mashonaland East provinces.
