FOUR artisanal miners are trapped underground after a mine shaft collapsed at Rowdy Boys Mine, popularly known as PaJudah in Zvimba early Friday.
Four others escaped unharmed.
Mashonaland West Minister of State for Provincial Affairs and Devolution, Honourable Marian Chombo said eight artisanal miners were underground when the shaft gave way.
Rescue operations are in progress, with emergency teams working to retrieve the trapped miners.
Authorities have launched investigations to determine the cause of the collapse.
The condition of the trapped miners remains unknown as rescue efforts continue.
