Local firms expect significant earnings from the just-ended Maputo International Trade Fair in Mozambique.
The Fair ended this Friday with local firms which were part of the annual business expo looking forward to making extensive inroads into the Mozambican market.
“It is my first time to attend this fair and I have met many distributors and I’m expecting that I will sign distributorship deals with local firms,” said an exhibitor.
Another said, “We are already in this market and I have seen more opportunities to export other products.”
Zimbabwe Trade promotion body, Zimtrade’s public relations manager, Danai Majaya said their efforts to assist local firms to venture into exports are bearing fruit.
“Part of our mandate is to ensure that export interface with their foreign counterparts for opportunities. We are very happy with the feedback we got from our members and many are saying they have made good business.”
It is the second time that Zimtrade has taken local firms to Mozambique this year after a successful trade mission that took place two months ago in Tete Province.
