Former Highlanders head coach, Mandla Mpofu has opened up on his stint in the Botswana Premier League after being relieved of his duties a few days before the festive season break.
Compared to his two fellow countrymen, Madinda Ndlovu and the late Rahman Gumbo who left an indelible mark in the Botswana Premier League, Mpofu has found the going tough.
Lulu was released by Sua Flamingoes before the festive season break following a string of poor results which saw the club slump to fourth position with 13 points from 12 games.
The former Highlanders head coach is now club hunting.
“I had a good time in Botswana. It was a learning experience but I must say I am very happy with the environment and the results we posted as a team. Prior to my departure, we were on position four, 12 points behind log leaders. I am back home, supporting Tshisa’s cause for junior development,” said Mpofu.
Before joining Sua Flamingoes, the soft-spoken gaffer has had an unfruitful stint with another Botswana side, Masitaoka.
