The raging wildfires in Southern California have left around 10 people dead and Los Angeles residents in despair as the flames continue.
Los Angeles County Sheriff Robert Luna says it has not been safe to reach most hard-hit areas adding that the death toll is now at 10.
Authorities say the Palisades’ fire where the A-List stars of Hollywood live, is one of the biggest multiple fires that have been raging around Los Angeles for days.
In the meantime, a man has been detained on suspicion of lighting the latest fire, which broke out on the border of Los Angeles and Ventura counties Thursday.
Arson investigators are also conducting an inquiry into the cause of the fire, which has destroyed more than five thousand structures.
Reports say nearly 180 000 people have been affected and are being evacuated as windy conditions continue to fuel the most catastrophic fire in the history of the city.
Meanwhile, a curfew has been put in place for some areas after police arrested 20 people for looting in evacuated homes.
