THE Zimbabwe Republic Police (ZRP) will host a fundraising golf tournament at Gweru Golf Club this Saturday to mobilise resources for the development of educational infrastructure at ZRP Umguza High School.

The event is expected to attract golfers, corporate organisations and development partners from across the country in support of the initiative.

Proceeds from the tournament will be directed towards the expansion and improvement of facilities at the school as efforts continue to enhance the learning environment for students.

ZRP Officer Commanding Midlands Province, Commissioner Patson Nyabadza said preparations for the tournament were complete and appealed for broad support from stakeholders.

“We are ready to host this tournament, where we will have golfers from across the country. We are inviting all stakeholders, the business community and members of the public to support this noble initiative. The funds raised will go directly towards the development of ZRP Umguza High School, ensuring that our children access quality education in a conducive environment.”

Commissioner Nyabadza said the project reflects the importance of collective efforts in advancing education infrastructure.

“Education is a shared responsibility. We believe that through collective efforts and partnerships, we can successfully develop this institution and positively impact future generations.”

Beyond the sporting competition, the tournament is expected to strengthen collaboration between communities, the corporate sector and government institutions, highlighting the role of sport as a vehicle for mobilising resources and supporting sustainable development initiatives.
