The success of the Second Republic’s infrastructure development projects was the rallying point when ZANU PF Secretary for Information and Publicity, Ambassador Christopher Mutsvangwa addressed campaign rallies in Makonde and Hurungwe North constituencies over the weekend.
The ruling party spokesperson took the campaign trail to Makonde and Hurungwe North constituencies to drum up support for ZANU PF candidates ahead of the August 23 general elections.
Ambassador Mutsvangwa highlighted achievements made by the second republic over the past five years including improved power supplies, reconstruction of the Beitbridge Harare Highway as well as coming up with interventions to restore Zimbabwe’s breadbasket status within SADC.
“The President has made everything possible to ensure the country recovers for the better. Look at what he has done in terms of infrastructure development including ensuring adequate power supplies. The agriculture sector has also changed with the country becoming food self-sufficient,” he said.
Ambassador Mutsvangwa said communities like Nyamakate in Hurungwe should tap into natural resources abundant in their area to improve livelihoods.
He also hailed the government’s open-door policy which has seen some white former commercial farmers who had left the country trooping back.
