Govt cracks the whip on examination impersonators

Story by Peter Mavhima

THE government is cracking the whip on exam cheats, amid revelations some private schools are fuelling impersonation of candidates.

Primary and Secondary Education Minister, Honourbale Torerayi Moyo, says they are currently conducting investigations over some cases forwarded to the ministry.

“We have received reports that people are practicing malpractices. There is a multiplicity of malpractices that are being done in our schools, especially at independent colleges. A bona fide candidate will not be sitting for an examination, but somebody has been paid to sit on behalf of the real candidate, such as language and mathematics. We are warning such individuals to stop that and the law will be applied without fear or favour,” he said.
