KADOMA – THE Ministry of Higher and Tertiary Education, Innovation Science and Technology Development is hosting a Rural Industrialisation Conference in Kadoma where participants are expected to review and validate the Rural Industrialisation Workbook as well as draft an implementation roadmap for the National Development Strategy 2 (NDS2).
Under NDS1 the Rural Industrialisation drive came alive through a number of initiatives that include the establishment of innovation hubs and clusters, as well as supporting small and medium enterprises in the manufacturing sector.
To propel rural industrialisation, the Ministry of Higher and Tertiary Education, Innovation, Science and Technology Development, has established seven agro-industrial parks at various universities across the country.
The Rural Industrialisation Strategy hinges on harnessing local resources and endowments to foster economic growth and self-reliance.
