FIFA president Gianni Infantino has congratulated newly crowned Castle Lager Premier Soccer League champions Scottland, following their successful debut season in Zimbabwe’s top flight.

In a letter addressed to the Zimbabwe Football Association (ZIFA), Infantino commended the club’s disciplined campaign, noting that their title win reflects growing competitiveness within the domestic league.

Scottland, widely known as Mabviravira, become only the second team to win the league in their maiden season, a feat last achieved by Black Rhinos in 1985. Their performance has been viewed by analysts as an indicator of shifting dynamics in Zimbabwean football, where new entrants increasingly challenge long-established clubs.

Infantino also acknowledged ZIFA’s role in supporting football development, saying the association’s continued reforms and youth-focused programmes were vital to strengthening the country’s football structures.

Scottland will now turn their attention to continental football, where their inaugural appearance in CAF competitions is expected to test the depth and resilience of the club’s project.
