DRC conflict not only affects its citizens, but the region – President Mnangagwa

SADC chairperson President Emmerson Mnangagwa says the conflict in the Democratic Republic of Congo(DRC) not only affects its citizens, but the region as well.

President Mnangagwa, who was addressing delegates when SADC and the East African Communities convened in Tanzania to discuss the crisis in the DRC, said it is imperative that a lasting solution is found for peace and stability in the region.

He said the meeting must put the interests of the Congolese people first.

“We must remain united as we were during the struggle for the complete emancipation and independence of Africa from colonialism. We do have a duty to comprehensively frankly tackle and address the various challenges that are impeding the realisation of peace,” he said.
