CUBA has officially called for participation in the 34th International Book Fair of Havana (FILH 2026), set to run from 12 to 22 February 2026 at the Morro-Cabaña Military Historical Park, under the theme “Reading is growing.”
The upcoming fair will mark the centenary of Commander-in-Chief Fidel Castro Ruz’s birth and will feature the Russian Federation as Guest of Honour. The event will also celebrate the contributions of esteemed Cuban journalist and writer Marilyn Bobes, as well as academic and researcher José Bell Lara.
FILH 2026 will host a comprehensive theoretical symposium, offering specialised spaces for literary professionals. Highlights include: Professional Hall: Workshops and symposia for booksellers, editors, translators, and digital media specialists; Symposiums and Colloquia: Covering periodical publications, environmental and human health issues, poetry promotion, and historical research; Young Writers Meeting: Opportunities for emerging Ibero-American authors to engage with peers and established writers.
The fair will also feature dedicated spaces for children and youth, including the Children’s Pavilion “Paper Treasure”, and will present the Cuba Digital project alongside a Business Forum to facilitate networking, marketing, and literary exchange.
FILH 2026 aims to strengthen connections between authors, publishers, and readers, providing a dynamic platform to showcase Cuban and international literature across multiple genres and formats.
