It is the state case that on the 29th of January, the late Edwin Chimbangu arrived at their place of residence in Cowdry Park at around 2000 hours where he enquired from the accused why she had not prepared supper, leading to the accused grabbing a table knife threatening to kill herself.
The state further alleged that the late called two church elders and the mother of the accused for assistance in resolving the matter.
After retiring to bed, at around 0100 hours, the accused is alleged to have armed herself with a metal digger which she had borrowed from a co-tenant the previous day, striking her late husband three times on the throat and twice on the jaws.
It is alleged that the accused went on to strike her four-year-old child three times on the neck and struck the seven-month-old infant four times on the head.
